A Quick Look at How to Play Desktop Tower Defense
Download Desktop Tower Defense it is a free, Flash-based online strategy game. It is a browser-based game that is produced by HandDrawnGames.com under the auspices of the Open Source Initiative and licensed under the GNU General Public license.
Players place towers on the playing field that will enable them to shoot at hordes of “creeps” to prevent them from leaving the player’s field or “square.” The player spends money to build and upgrade these towers and will earn additional funds by killing the creeps.
A very quick look at playing Desktop Tower Defense:
- Choose your level of difficulty. Beginners playing in the easy mode will begin with lots of money and only a single line of invading creeps. Medium will see two lines. The hard mode will give the player two lines of creeps with an additional “Health” boost.
- Choose your towers. At the beginning, you will only be able to buy the least expensive towers — anti-air and anti-ground ones. As you gain more money by killing the enemy you can upgrade and add towers.
- Place your towers. You are able to place your individual towers anywhere between two white lines. Creeps will leave and enter through the gaps in those lines. The gaps are located at the top and bottom and left and right of the playing field. You are not allowed to place your towers to completely block these entrances and exits.
- Once you have finished tower placement, you then press the “Start” button that will release the first wave of creeps. The game will not stop once it is started. You will need to continue building and upgrading your towers to stop the creeps from escaping. As the game progresses the creeps will come in faster and stronger waves. If too many creeps escape, you lose.
